If you like your metal loud, blistering but yet with precision, then the Buffalo Riverworks was the place to be Tuesday night. Trivium returned to town and brought the fabulous Jinjer and Heriot who were making their Buffalo debut. Trivium’s latest tour Ascend Above the Ashes is in support of their latest EP Struck Dead which dropped on Halloween. The band’s 14-song set was powerful and explosive as one may have surmised. The concert brought many concert goers out of the woodwork. As soon as this show was announced it brought a sense of joy to many who did not have to travel out of town to see it. No they could stay in the friendly confines of the Buffalo area and on a Saturday night no less. The Riviera Theatre was the place to be and Geoff Tate and his band put on one of the best shows this theatre has seen. The crowd was on its feet from the time the lights went out and Tate took the stage all the way through the end of “Eyes Of A Stranger”. That song was the final song from the esteemed Operation Mindcrime album which was performed in its entirety for the last time in the area. Tate will have hit 66 countries and countless cities after all is said and done with the tour. Continue reading →

It was a special night at OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino as The Cult played their first show in the area in quite some time. Led by vocalist Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy, the two members that were there from the start, the band put on an electrifying performance. To top it off they went back in time and played one set as Death Cult which was an early incarnation of The Cult. Joining them on stage were drummer John Tempesta and bassist Charlie Jones.
