The last time Tom Keifer played Niagara Falls he was being lowered from the ceiling while playing the piano for what still remains today as Cinderella’s biggest hit “Don’t Know What You Got (Till It’s Gone)”. Oddly enough that was in 1989, some thirty years ago. Friday evening he finally returned to the Falls with his new band the Tom Keifer Band. There are not too many bands that have gone through changes the way Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starhip or Starship has. Despite name changes, numerous personnel changes, lawsuits and many other hurdles the band has survived and thrived. These days the Mickey Thomas led band Starship still continues to tour and put on amazing performances.Those on hand for the sold out show at the Fallsview Casino Saturday evening were treated to a plethora of hits not only from Starship but all incarnations of the band. Shinedown played their first Buffalo area headlining show in some seven years Friday Evening. The sparse crowd of 8,000 inside KeyBank Center made up for the size with their voices as they sang along to many of the bands classic songs. What a fantastic way to put an exclamation point on the summer of 2019. Tags simply outdid themselves putting this one together. They put on a similar show two years ago with Cinderella’s Tom Keifer headlining. This time around Ratt, Warrant (who also appeared with Keifer on that bill from 17), FireHouse and Kix not only delivered the goods but had people already talking about who they should bring next year. STP made it’s first visit back to the Rapids since 2011. The band did recently play the Town Ballroom in Buffalo last May. STP are Dean DeLeo (guitar), Robert DeLeo (bass), Eric Kretz (drums) and Jeff Gutt (lead vocals).
