It seemed like déjå vu last night at Artpark. On August 1, 2017, 38 Special and George Thorogood played the outdoor Amphitheater at Artpark. Last night the same two bands were on the bill together once again. Neither band seemed to have lost a step considering how hot it got at the majestic outdoor venue. “Artpark in Lewiston, NY is the best kept secret” as George Thorogood let us know during his set. Chip Z’nuff brought his band through WNY again this past Wednesday. The Caz was the place to be on this hot and sticky summer night. The only problem was many were unaware of this show. If a band ever had an opportunity to “mail in” a performance this had all the makings of it. Despite the low attendance, none of the bands let it deter them from putting on fantastic sets. One way or another the promoter was going to make the rock double bill happen. It was announced that due to circumstances beyond his control Motley Crue singer Vince Neil would be unable to perform with Stephen Pearcy. Buddy Guy, the legendary guitarist known for his Chicago Blues style came to town one more time Friday evening. The show at Seneca Niagara Event Center was a bonus as he had completed his farewell tour last year. The eight time Grammy Award winning Blues guitarist announced his Damn Right Encore tour for 2025 and Niagara Falls was one of the lucky places to land a show on the limited schedule. Sunday night a unique tour called the Northern Exposure tour made its way into the friendly confines of the Riviera Theatre in North Tonawanda. The tour received its name due to the heavy concentration of Canadian dates throughout the 25 date run. It was only fitting that this show marked the final night of the tour as Steel Panther, Buckcherry and Kurt Deimer let it all hang it. These are not the normal type of acts that the Riviera hosts regularly and after this show one is unsure if they will go this extreme in the future. Continue reading →
