Toto, Christopher Cross and Men At Work performed on the outdoor stage that was setup in the rear parking lot behind the venue. The show concluded the summer’s two outdoor shows at the Seneca Niagara Casino for 2025. Darius Rucker played the night before.

Saturday night it was Toto’s turn to be the main band on display and they delivered a gem. Toto does not make their way to Western New York too often so it is highly advised to catch em’ whenever they do. The band has a long storied history and has managed to carry on with a great core band and when needed added the correct pieces.

The band opened with the instrumental “Child’s Anthem” which also opens the 1977 debut Toto album. It helped get the bands feet wet before they launched into the trifecta of “Carmen”, “Rosanna” and “99”. “99” is not one guitarist Steve Lukather likes to perform. The band had not played it since 2017 until they brought back in 2024. It has remained in the set since.

Vocalist Joseph Williams seemed to be in fine form listening to him sing “Pamela” and “Stop Loving You”. Other highlights included the two songs saved for the end “Hold The Line” and “Africa”. For the finale members of both Men At Work and Christopher Cross came out to join in on the number one international smash.

Christopher Cross has done more touring in recent years than he did earlier on in his career. He last played the Seneca Niagara Casino last year. This time around he played a solid 45-minute set that featured his expected hits culminating with the song that put him on the map “Ride Like The Wind” which saw some crazy folks in the audience really acting berserk. Cross had a solid band as well as three female background singers. Cross delivered exactly what was expected and at 74 years old still sounded good doing it.

Opening the show was Colin Hay and the latest version of Men At Work. Hay resurrected the name back in 2019. With Hay being the lone holdover Fram any incarnation I suppose using the name Men at Work makes more sense. Oddly as popular as the band was they only released 3 albums of material back in the day. Business As Usual and Cargo both were multi platinum with Two Hearts securing a gold certification. “Who Can It Be Now?” and “Down Under” had everyone on their feet clapping and dancing.

This tour package is playing in bigger sheds across America this summer. While the touring industry appears to have taken a huge hit this summer due to the economy, it is good to see a package like this still be able to come to our neck of the woods. Definitely one of the underrated packages of the summer.
