A sold out Rapids Theatre marked the return of Disturbed. David Draiman and company delivered an amazing show in front of a rabid crowd that was thirsty for some music conjured by the foursome. After all it had been five years since the band had last toured together.

The band went on hiatus in 2011 to work on other projects and regroup. Draiman played the Rapids with his Device project back in 2012. Meanwhile bassist Moyer did a stint in Adrenaline Mob and his Art Of Anarchy side project. Guitarist Dan Donegan and drummer Mike Wengren had formed a new project Fight or Flight with Evans Blue singer Dan Chandler.

The band reconvened in 2015 to record Immortalized minus Moyer. All were present and accounted for as they took the stage to a thunderous ovation Tuesday evening.

Surprisingly the band did not jam the new album down everyone’s throats as only “The Light” and “The Vengeful One” were featured along with the Simon And Garfunkel cover of “The Sound Of Silence”. The band stuck mostly to the songs the fans most wanted to hear.

The band closed out the show with their platinum single and best known song “Down With The Sickness” as expected.

It was good to see the band back together and putting on a show of this magnitude. The band will be back in the summer out at Darien Lake with Breaking Benjamin on July 24. If you missed this show you won’t want to miss that one.

Opening the show was Nonpoint a band from Fort Lauderdale. No strangers to the Rapids as they also opened the show when Draiman’s Device project played here. They really put on a solid performance that showed why they were chosen to open the show.
