The Offspring, the punk rock band who help push the genre to the mainstream back in the 90’s played the OLG Stage at Fallsview Wednesday night. The short but dynamic, highly spirited 75-minute set was all that was needed to show everyone how significant this band still is. Led by vocalist Dexter Holland and guitarist Kevin “Noodles” Wasserman, they remain the sole holdovers from the band’s glory days. Continue reading

Counting Crows Return After Seven Very Long Decembers

The Counting Crows finally returned to town making their first Buffalo area appearance in nearly seven years Tuesday evening. The place to be was Buffalo’s newest outdoor venue, Terminal B at the Outer Harbor. The Counting Crows are currently on the road with Santana and were able to mix in a few headline shows on off dates with this being one of them. For those who’d like to catch Santana and The Crows together they make a stop in Syracuse later this month (July 24). Continue reading

New Look Asia Impressive At OLG Stage In Niagara Falls

2024 signifies the Year of the Dragon for the Chinese Zodiac. The perfect time to reform Asia thought one of its founders, keyboardist Geoffrey Downes. The band last got together in 2019 as part of the Royal Affair tour headlined by Yes. Downes was the sole original member this time around due to drummer Carl Palmer being busy with his return of Emerson, Lake & Palmer project. Guitarist Steve Howe is busy gearing up for a tour with Yes. That would mean Downes had to get some players to do the material of Asia justice. Joining him was drummer Virgil Donati who played with original bassist John Wetton in UK and guitarist John Mitchell who played with Downes and Wetton in Icon. Last but far from least is bassist/vocalist Harry Whitley whose vocals remind one of the late Wetton in spots. Continue reading

The Steve Miller Band played the big OLG Stage inside the beautiful Fallsview Casino Resort last night. It was a packed house that showcased Miller at his finest even at the age of 80 years old. He has not lost any of his golden guitar playing ability as he delved out classic rock staples one after another. The 85-minute set was encapsulated with many songs that may not have been released as singles but are considered gems of the catalog such as “The Stake” and “True Fine Love”. Continue reading

Ed Roland and Collective Soul took a night off from their current shed tour with fellow artists Hootie & The Blowfish and Edwin McCain to jaunt to Erie, PA and the Warner Theatre much to the delight of the fans. Erie was picked as one of the lucky cities where the boys from Atlanta picked to do a headline show. Touring in support of their latest release the double album Here To Eternity which is jam packed with twenty new tunes for the fans to discover and devour.
