Deep Purple are in the midst of another North American tour which finds them out on the road supporting their latest release =1. While the album has not charted on the regular U.S. album charts it did reach #12 on the Top Album Sales chart (for further info on the charts and what they mean go to www.billboard.com). It was just another retro night at OLG stage as Howard Jones and company took everyone back to the 1980’s and the MTV British pop era. Joining Jones were ABC and Haircut One Hundred. Last year he brought Jefferson Starship and Night Ranger for the inaugural tour. “Last year we didn’t know what the hell we were doing but we had a great time” exclaimed Michaels during his return to Pine Knob. This year Don Felder and Chris Janson opened the show with short sets before Michaels came out all guns blazing. This year Michaels brought ex-Foreigner vocalist Lou Gramm and Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider and man did they sound awesome. Gramm and Snider came out and played with Michaels band serving up three songs each. Continue reading

Darien Lake Amphitheater

Amazing this late into their career how they can still get the gals excited enough to scream for them like it was 1989 all over again. Continue reading

When we arrived at Artpark’s Mainstage Theatre Tuesday night, my sister and I first noticed the number of tour buses out back. There were five, which should have been expected given that the Tedeschi Trucks Band is a 12-piece unit, and there was also an opening band. Continue reading
