The dynamic duo of Train and Reo Speedwagon packed the Empower FCU Amphitheater at Lakeview Wednesday evening. The Summer Road Trip tour also featured the Yacht Rock Revue who put on dazzling renditions of many classic songs from the 1970s. Chicago is one of those bands that brings you back in time. Many can recall when they first became acquainted with the band. The bands history of playing Rochester takes it as far back to Rochester’s RIT college in 1970. The band also played here at this same spot back when it was known as the Finger Lakes Performing Arts Center. They have come full circle playing many o the area’s esteemed venues including the Rochester Auditorium Theatre and even the Kodak Center more recently. Continue reading →

The summer tour kicked off a few days ago and will find the band on the road throughout August. You can clearly see the difference between a casual fan and a diehard at an REO Speedwagon concert. The casual fans will stand for every hit song and sing along. The second the band dove into one of its many hidden gems they sit down leaving the true diehards remain as standing. The band set up shop in the Warner Theatre Thursday night fresh from an off night of their Summer Road Trip tour with Train.
