It was that one day of the summer where multiple great concerts took place around the surrounding Buffalo area. With Billy Joel a mere five miles away and Luke Bryan out at Darien Lake, this left Styx playing a very familiar venue. While Friday the 13th may be bad luck to some, to the fans of Queensryche it was simply seeing a majestic show put on by their favorite band. The fact that the band were able to deliver such a gem of a show without any kind of fancy stage or even a banner, shows how deep their music is. The Grass Roots made their first-ever appearance at the Batavia Downs Gaming & Hotel Friday Night. Playing to a packed house the band treated their fans to not only the hits but a few rare tracks as well. Friday night’s Rockin’ At The Downs featured the hard rockin’ glam metal band Slaughter. Slaughter was announced as a late fill-in when Skid Row who was originally scheduled, had to bail out due to circumstances beyond their control. Slaughter did not disappoint their fans as they demonstrated during their 70-minute set. The show also marked the band’s first area appearance since a 2013 date out at the now defunct Braun’s Concert Cove. Continue reading →
