Velvet Chains is based out of Las Vegas. They have an upcoming EP due out October 21. The band–consisting of founder Nils Goldschmidt (bass), Brazilian brothers Laurent (lead guitar) and Larry (rhythm guitar) Cassiano, drummer Jason Hope and Chilean-bred lead singer Ro Viper. The long-anticipated Todd Rundgren solo record “Space Force” arrives in its entirety October 14. Many of the songs on the album have already been available as singles. “Space Force” is the second in a series of collaborative songs, the first being “White Knight” which came out in 2017. Everyone’s favorite hometown band, Buffalo’s own Goo Goo Dolls came home to Keybank Center Saturday evening to close out their 2022 summer tour.
Oddly enough the last time the band played the arena was in 2003 as a special guest to headliner Bon Jovi that particular evening. The band seems to have played every major venue in town between that time. Let’s hope they just keep future shows at the arena as the atmosphere is so much better than any other venue in town. Shinedown returned to Western New York Tuesday evening touring in support of their latest album Planet Zero. The crowd of over 6000 enjoyed what was one of the oddest touring packages out on the circuit today. Usually Shinedown brings out bands such as Three Days Grace, Papa Roach or In This Moment which fits right in the genre. Shinedown threw em a curveball by bringing in Nashville recording artists Jelly Roll and John Harvie. On paper it did not make sense but as vocalist Brent Smith would explain later on Rock and Roll is a spirit and any genre could fall under that umbrella. Continue reading
