It has been just a mere four months that Mike Tramp last came to town and played at Samuel’s. Last time it was just guitarist Marcus Nand and Tramp playing along with a bass and drum machine. This time both played with a full band including drummer Brentt Arcement and bassist Jerry Best. Opening the show was Jim Crean’s Hair Nation this time playing a full electric set. This marked the first Buffalo appearance of Tramp with a full band since 2005 when he played the old Rock N Roll Heaven in Cheektowaga. Continue reading

Steve Hackett made a long awaited return to Rochester Saturday evening. The Theater at Innovative Square was the setting for Hackett’s Foxtrot at Fifty extravaganza. Foxtrot is of course in reference to the 1972 Genesis album that seems to have aged like a fine wine and is considered one of the best albums of its genre. Amy Grant returned to the Riviera Theatre Wednesday night marking the third time she has played the historic venue. Her last visit was in 2019 and oddly enough when she asked who was there not many responded. That is a good thing as it goes to show she was playing to many who may not have seen her before. Grant put on a dazzling, inspirational performance. Grant looks at things in a positive way no matter how bad things can get. The past three years have been no picnic for her but she keeps pushing through obstacles and has a great outlook on things. Continue reading

It has been ten long excruciating years for many fans since Dave Pirner and Soul Asylum last graced a Buffalo area stage. Although the Riv was half full, the fans who did show up let the band know how they felt by really being quite spirited during the final songs of the night. This was easily the most anticipated Soul Asylum show due to how long they had last been in town. Continue reading
