In a perfect world Great White could have been one of the most successful bands from it’s era and genre. Although they are more of a blues based band some of their earliest work features keyboards and they were lumped in with the hair bands. Friday night they played the Rockin’ at the Downs Concert Series in Batavia, NY. They were not on the bill initially but were asked to fill in for Skid Row who was originally the scheduled band. Without hesitation these guys came to town to put on a glowing performance, one of the band’s best in years, knowing they had to fly to Seattle after the show for a gig on Saturday. Not easy to do. Bret Michaels had a vision. To take a package on the road with nothing but hits and make it an all night rock n roll party. Well he dialed up Sugar Ray frontman Mark McGrath who answered the phone and former Journey/Tall Stories singer Steve Augeri. What a brilliant idea. From the time the fans got out of their vehicles to enter Pine Knob it was a rock roll atmosphere amplified. Continue reading

The Live and Loud 2023 tour touched down on Big Flats, NY at Tag’s Summer Stage Saturday evening. This show featured Stephen Pearcy, The “Voice Of Ratt” and the talented Vixen on a one-off bill from the normal tour package that has Winger and John Corabi at most shows. All of these bands have played Tag’s before so they knew the type of atmosphere and crowd they would be playing to. It was mostly just a show that had nothing but hits and songs that most knew the words to. Continue reading

Weezer brought their Indie Rock Road Trip tour to CMAC Monday evening. The early afternoon rain may have dampened the ground but after it had subsided it resulted in a great walk up at the box office. The crowd of just under 10,000 were able to witness first hand the draw and power of Weezer. Formed in Los Angeles in 1992, the band has now amassed a catalog of songs now standing just a shade under 500. Continue reading
