Buckcherry roared into Cleveland’s House of Blues Monday night like thunder. The Roar Like Thunder tour is currently underway as the band is promoting their latest album of the same name. Album number eleven came out in June and the band is out delivering the goods. For a Monday night it was a pretty decent crowd although the balcony seats were not sold.

The band hit the stage to “Roar Like Thunder” the title track as expected. When you have a strong opener such as this it was the perfect start to get the ball rolling. Leaping right into “Lit Up” immediately after was a sure way to get the crowd’s attention if they hadn’t by then. “Lit Up” from the debut album helped put the band on the map back in 99.

One nice thing is while they did focus more on the new release, they really tried to mix up the rest of the set by playing at least one song from each album. While they didn’t touch every album the set was really indicative of where they are at this point of their career. Other highlights on the evening of course included “Sorry” and new tracks “Set It Free” and “Come On”.

The current band members have now been together since 2020 when Jetty guitarist Billy Rowe came aboard. Drummer Francis Ruiz and bassist Kelly LeMieux have gelled quite well to form a solid rhythm section. That leaves vocalist Josh Todd and guitarist Stevie D. as the last remaining holdovers from the 15 lineup. This lineup has now recorded three solid albums with the latest really standing out.

This band lives to play live. The energy and magniloquent style the band plays while onstage is hard to top. These guys deliver each and every time out like they did at the House of Blues on Monday night. They most certainly brought the Rock Show to Cleveland.

The band recently announced another leg where they will be touring with Michael Monroe.
