Bad Marriage out of Boston, MA came to play their first ever WNY show this past Thursday at Rock N Roll Heaven in West Seneca. The band is comprised of six members currently. The three guitar attack of guitarists featured Mike Fitz, Ian Haggerty and a name many were familiar with, Tommy Skeoch who was known for his time in Tesla and Bar 7. Vocalist Jonny P, bassist Todd Boisvert and drummer Mike Delaney rounded out the sextet.

The band was formed in 2015 and have opened many shows for bands that reads like a who’s who of bands from the 1980s. Not only do they have a Tesla connection with Skeoch, vocalist Jeff Keith guested on the bands latest 5-song EP Artificial Mind which was produced by Tesla bassist Brian Wheat. They are currently on the road with Glenn Hughes and Enuff Z’nuff and came to town on an off night from the tour.

Hitting the stage precisely at 8 pm the band played a fast paced 45-minute energetic set that featured a good mix of songs throughout all their releases. Highlights included opener “Who’s Ready To Rock”, “Match Made” and the band’s latest single released late in 2023, “Dangerous”. The band closed out the set with a cover of “Little Suzi”, the song made famous by Tesla which was a cover by PH.D.

This band has a throwback kind of energy and sound. Jonny P kind of reminds one of a young Dave King from the time he was fronting Fastway. The three guitar attack is kind of unique for a band who is not Iron Maiden bolstering their sound to another level with the addition of Skeoch. Will be interesting to see what these guys will do next. Keep an eye out for them as they are a band to pay attention to.
