The night before Thanksgiving has always been a festive time in Buffalo. This year was even more so as Bush played to a sold out Town Ballroom. The 1000 capacity venue may very well be the smallest they will play on this fall tour. The show must also be noted that Bush gave the Town Ballroom their 25th sellout of the year. From the time opener Eva Under Fire started to the time Bush ended the place was packed to the rafters. Having seen Bush many times over the years, I would say this show was not only the best sounding but the most energetic I have ever seen frontman Gavin Rossdale.

The band took to the stage and right away tore into one of their signature tunes in “Everything Zen”. They promptly followed with “Machinehead” and had the crowd in the palm of their hands. “Greedy Fly” continued the onslaught before things slowed a bit. One of the standouts was the slower paced “Letting The Cables Sleep” which was added into the set a few nights ago.

Other than vocalist/guitarist Rossdale the band currently consists of lead guitarist Chris Trainer, bassist Corey Britz and drummer Nik Hughes. Hughes came aboard in 2019 while the other members have been together since 2010 when the band reformed. The band are smack dab in the middle of a 17-date run which will end in Indio, CA.

Touring in support of the new greatest hits album Loaded: The Greatest Hits 1994-2023 the Nowhere To Go But Everywhere tour finds the band in prime form as they seemed energized and on top of their game. It was the first time I was able to experience the band in a club setting and it felt refreshing to see the band up close and personal in a unique venue like the Town Ballroom. Compared to a shed or big theater type of show you felt more of a part of the action as there is something to be said for an intimate type of show. This album will tide the band over and will give them a chance to work on the next. Next year will also mark the band’s anniversary for it’s debut Sixteen Stone for which perhaps the band will tour again to celebrate. Whatever the future holds it appears as bright as ever.
