Playing the Buffalo/Niagara Falls area for the very first time, Jinjer left no stone unturned with a memorable performance at the Rapids Theater Friday evening. The band had an off day prior and even took in some sightseeing as documented by their Facebook page. The band seemed fresh although they are mid-tour playing a few headline shows like this one and mixing in dates as an opener on the Disturbed tour. Judging by their performance their entire visit to Niagara Falls will remain memorable not only for the fans but the band as well.

The dynamic progressive metal band from the Ukraine hit the crowd hard right out of the gate with “Perennial”, a blistering track from their Micro ep. The band focused on Wallflowers, their most recent album which was released in 2021. The highlights from that album included “Copycat”, “Vortex” and “Call Me A Symbol”.

The piercing vocals of Tatiana Shmayluk surely must have chased the demons away after a performance like that. The Rapids Theater is known as a haunted theater which was featured on Ghost Hunters a program on the Syfy network many years ago. The band is rounded out by guitarist Roman Ibramkhalilov, bassist Eugene Abdukhanov and drummer Vlad Ulasevich. As a unit they delivered a solid set and were complimentary to the vocals of Tatiana.

Considering all this band has going on with the war back home, it was interesting to see how professional they were in the concert setting. I would bet the house that you will hear much more from this band in the future as they not only put on a solid show but they have really come into their own and are a force to be reckoned with.

Opening the show was Until I Wake who are from Buffalo and has opened the Jinjer headline shows on the east coast. They played a fast paced opening set that helped set the show up for Jinjer to come out all guns blazing.
