Nightwish, the biggest selling Finnish band played to a packed Rapids Theater last Friday. The band is currently in middle of a nine month long world tour. They are celebrating their latest compilation Decades. The band promised to deliver some rare songs and make it a special evening for their fans. They succeeded on all counts. Nightwish has a unique appeal that draws fans from all over the spectrum. Formed in 1996, the band’s music has often been described as bombastic, heavy, symphonic and cinematic, and at times sound like power metal as well as goth metal. The band’s music is also known to be complex while at times layered and they always seems to have melodic choruses with lots of hooks. You can’t go wrong with that recipe.
