The Death To Destiny tour featuring Asking Alexandria descended upon Niagara’s gem, The Rapids Theatre Tuesday evening. The bill also featured All That Remains along with Sevendust, For Today and Emmure. The show almost felt like a mini festival as each band received a warm response and there was celebrating with tons of crowd surfing and fists pumping through out the lively crowd.

Headliner Asking Alexandria took to the stage to the loudest response of the night as they tore into “Don’t Pray For Me,” the opening track from their latest From Death To Destiny. The band’s recent release reached the top 5 of the billboard charts which has opened up many doors for vocalist Danny Worsnop, guitarists Ben Bruce and Cameron Liddell, bassist Sam Bettley and drummer James Cassells.

The band is currently midway through their fall tour and seemd to be hitting on all cylinders. The band mixed in new tracks “The Death Of Me” and “Run Free” as well as earlier tracks from their first two releases including “A Prophecy” and show closer “The Final Episode (Let’s Change The Channel).

All That Remains, took the stage prior to Asking Alexandria and showed their versatility on songs such as the more laid back “What If I Was Nothing” to the faster paced “Two Weeks.” The band is still touring in support of last year’s A War You Cannot Win. The crowd surfing really picked up during the band’s performance and continued right up until the end of the evening.

Sevendust played an all too brief forty minute set that clearly showed they seemed a little out of place on the bill. Not to take away from any of the other bands, in this reviewer’s opinion Sevendust’s set was the highlight of the night. Singer Lajon Witherspoon commented on they didn’t know what to expect out on this tour but they were glad to be a part it. The only thing fans wanted from Sevendust were to hear more of the bands older material as they chose to focus on their more recent material.

This was one of the more solid shows to hit the Rapids Theatre to date. Every band was enjoyable and they all delivered sets that gave a true representation of each band. More shows like this and they’ll have to build a bigger venue to accommodate everyone.
