There is nothing like the first Tuesday in the Park of the season. It gives everyone a chance to check out all the changes Artpark made no matter how subtle they are. This is one dedicated group of people who really have taken the reins and turned Artpark into one of the top venues around in just a short period of time. Having Sammy Hagar & The Circle kick off the season with special guest Night Ranger was pure genius. Continue reading

It’s not every day that you walk into a concert and the venue is recommending you take a pack of earplugs. Of course, this was no ordinary concert as Yngwie J. Malmsteen is no ordinary performer. The Maestro came out all guns blazing with a rip-roaring version of “Rising Force”, a track culled from his Odyssey album which remains his best-selling US album to date. Continue reading

Artpark has one of the area’s best weekly concert series with its Tuesday In The Park Series. They have always done a great job providing some fantastic lineups and they are going all out with this season’s opener. Sammy Hagar is bringing his Full Circle Jam Tour which includes his longtime guitarist Vic Johnson, former Van Halen bandmate and bassist Michael Anthony and drummer Jason Bonham. As an added bonus Night Ranger will be opening the affair.

Hagar and his band are no strangers to Artpark, having played here in 2014. The band has just released their debut full-length album called Space Between on May 10. Strong sales helped land the album at number 4 on the Billboard charts. Expect to hear a good portion of Space Between along with such Hagar solo gems like “There’s Only One Way To Rock” and “Eagles Fly”. For the Van Halen fans in attendance don’t worry as Uncle Sammy will be taking care of you with a fair amount of his hits from that segment of his career as well. Continue reading

The Cleveland Agora has come a long way since the first time I set foot inside of the historic building back in 1999. Wednesday night Whitesnake played the venue to a packed house. While the band has played the Cleveland area many times over their 40-plus year career, this show marked the first time they graced the stage at 5000 Euclid Avenue. Touring in support of their brand spanking new album Flesh & Blood, the band mixed in some of the new songs alongside some of their biggest hits to deliver a very satisfying show. Continue reading

Moving On Tour 2019

The Who’s Moving On tour touched down at KeyBank Center in Buffalo Thursday night. Being just the 2nd night of the band’s tour made it extra special as the band delivered two additional songs than their opening night set two days ago. Not sure if it had anything to do with the fact they had not played here since a 1997 outing in Darien Center. Guitarist Pete Townshend noted how long it had been when he greeted the near capacity crowd. Townshend and vocalist Roger Daltrey are the last surviving members of the group that was part of the British Invasion that took place in the mid-1960s. Continue reading

The Who have had many notable shows when playing Buffalo including two huge shows out at then called Rich Stadium. They also played their first area show at the long forgotten Melody Fair during the venue’s infant years. This upcoming show may be notable as it may very well be the bands final show in Buffalo. The band has cut down on touring over recent years and with Roger Daltry and Pete Townsend in or near their mid 70’s the chances they will play here again dwindle. To get you ready for the show we are running our top 25 songs as selected by our writers. Enjoy! Continue reading
