Heaven Comes Down
2023
Silver Lining Music
Produced By: Bill Palmer & Don Dokken
Review: Joseph Suto

What I mean by that is I must listen to the whole album, good or bad at least five times through to truly give it a fair shake. Believe it or not many reviewers rarely play the album more than once before they launch their opinion which to me is absurd. Continue reading

Concert Review
YES
Cleveland Masonic Temple
Cleveland, OH
Friday Rocktober 20, 2023
Review/Photos: Joseph Suto

The names Howe, Downes, Davison, Sherwood & Schellen just about sounds more like a law firm than the powerful progressive entity known as YES. The Masonic Temple in Cleveland, Ohio was the setting for the band’s latest Classic Tales Of YES tour. If you came for an all hits tour you clearly came to the wrong place. Continue reading

It has been just a mere four months that Mike Tramp last came to town and played at Samuel’s. Last time it was just guitarist Marcus Nand and Tramp playing along with a bass and drum machine. This time both played with a full band including drummer Brentt Arcement and bassist Jerry Best. Opening the show was Jim Crean’s Hair Nation this time playing a full electric set. This marked the first Buffalo appearance of Tramp with a full band since 2005 when he played the old Rock N Roll Heaven in Cheektowaga. Continue reading

Steve Hackett made a long awaited return to Rochester Saturday evening. The Theater at Innovative Square was the setting for Hackett’s Foxtrot at Fifty extravaganza. Foxtrot is of course in reference to the 1972 Genesis album that seems to have aged like a fine wine and is considered one of the best albums of its genre. Much to the delight of the sold out crowd inside the 700 seat theater, the band pulled off playing the album flawlessly. Continue reading
