Bret Michaels is always thinking. Last year he came up with the idea of Parti Gras. That is where he would create a tour package where friends of his would come in and play on the bill which would feature nothing but hit after hit. Last year he brought Jefferson Starship and Night Ranger for the inaugural tour. “Last year we didn’t know what the hell we were doing but we had a great time” exclaimed Michaels during his return to Pine Knob. This year Don Felder and Chris Janson opened the show with short sets before Michaels came out all guns blazing. This year Michaels brought ex-Foreigner vocalist Lou Gramm and Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider and man did they sound awesome. Gramm and Snider came out and played with Michaels band serving up three songs each.

Perhaps the biggest moment of the show occurred when Snider came out and ripped into “We’re Not Gonna Take It”. It is a moment that was hard to describe as Snider and Michaels band hit it out of the park. What can be said about Lou Gramm? I have seen him over the years and I must say when I closed my eyes during “Cold As Ice” it took me back to the first time I saw him in 1985. He sounded exact. I do not think Gramm has sounded this good in quite some time. Not a knock but it goes to show you how he still continues to work at putting on the best performance he can even at the age of 74.

You know what you will get with Bret Michaels. He puts on a show every time and gives it his all. Michaels also made the announcement that there will be another Parti Gras in 2025. This year’s Parti Gras was on level with last years but let’s hope next year will be the be all end all Parti Gras. I say bring Snider back as one of the openers along with 38 Special or a reunited Damn Yankees.
