Top 5 Holiday Songs

It seems with each passing year we get more and more Holiday songs to enjoy for the Christmas season. Here we ranked our all-time favorite original songs as well as picked out two new songs released this year which should become classics.
1. Christmas All Over Again- The song was written and performed by Tom Petty. The song appears on A Very Special Christmas 2 album released in 1992. This song is infectious and has also been recorded by The Goo Goo Dolls this year.
2. Christmas Is Time To Say I Love You- Written and performed by Billy Squier. It was released as a B-side to My Kinda Lover back in 1981.
3. Christmas With You- Recorded by FireHouse written by Bill Leverty and C.J. Snare. It appears on the 1998 Best of FireHouse album as well as the 2011 Full Circle album.
4. Father Christmas-Written by Raymond Douglas Davies and performed by The Kinks. Released as a single in 1977, the song has been played year after year on classic rock stations nationwide.
5. All I Want For Christmas Is You- Written by Mariah Carey and Walter Afanasieff. First released in 1994 on Mariah’s Merry Christmas album. After many rule changes to the charts and song eligibility the song finally topped the charts in 2019. The song continues to surge in popularity each holiday season.
Top new songs released this year
1. This Is Christmas- written by Brad Fernquist, Jim McGorman, and John Rzeznik. The song is performed by the Goo Goo Dolls on their 2020 Xmas album It’s Christmas All Over. The song has been featured on Hallmark’s promos for their holiday movies.
2. Here This Christmas- Performed by Gwen Stefani and written by trio of Brent Kutzie, Josh Varnadore and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder. The song peaked at #5 on the Billboard Holiday Digital Song Sales Chart. A bright and cheery song that has also been featured in ads for Hallmark.
