The long wait is finally over. He Saw It Comin’ is the latest album by Jack Russell and the first released under the name of Jack Russell’s Great White. Russell stated in an exclusive interview with us that this is the best album he ever recorded. While we will agree it is a very good album, it doesn’t measure up in comparison to albums such as Once Bitten, Can’t Get There From Here and Let It Rock which would be considered the meat and potatoes of the Russell/Kendall Great White era. That’s not to say after listening to it you will tuck it away and forget about it, far from it.
The album starts off with “Sign Of The Times” which is easily the best track on the album. With an auspicious start like that you may expect a letdown but there are many peaks that keep it from getting totally flat. The autobiographical “My Addiction” is a strong song that Russell nails lyrically. The rest of the standouts include “Love Don’t Live Here” and the throwback in time “Godspeed” which takes you back in time to the 60s. “Blame It On The Night” is another powerful song that has some great guitar work on it that reminds you of that old school classic 80’s era where Great White came from.
Russell has put together a solid band and has not disappointed at all with his new release. The fact is Russell has easily made one of the best albums in recent memory. For any fan of Russell’s or Great White for that matter, this album is a must have in your collection. Russell and his current band have hit one out of the park with He Saw It Comin’.
