The Hellpop Tour featuring In This Moment, Motionless In White, Kyng and All Hail The Yeti set up shop inside the Rapids Theatre last Wednesday evening. In This Moment headlined the affair and did not disappoint the good sized crowd as they gave a visual showing which went hand in hand with their latest release entitled Blood.
In This Moment took to the stage with an eerie fog in full effect and it pretty much remained throughout the entire show. Led by vocalist Maria Brink, the band gave the Rapids faithful a heavy dose from Blood with such popular songs as “Whore,” “Adrenalize” and the title track “Blood” which also served as the encore.
The lineup currently features co-founders Brink and lead guitarist Chris Howorth along with bassist Travis Johnson and the two newest members who joined in 2011 guitarist Randy Weitzel and drummer Tom Hane.
Blood has become the band’s highest charting album cracking the top 20 and hit #15 on the Billboard charts. With their inclusion on this past summer’s Carnival Of Madness tour alongside the high profile Hellpop tours (the 2nd one is starting January 2014) it should make 2014 the biggest year for the band yet.
Openers All Hail The Yeti and Kyng set things up nicely that by the time Motionless In White (MIW for short) took the stage the crowd had grown in size. The fans came more to life as the crowd surfing picked up along with the energy of MIW.
The show was like a mini festival as it seemed with each band the level of intensity had picked up. Hellpop 2 will be starting up in January, we advise no one to miss it, you will be sorry if you do.
