Mike Tramp played his first tour in the U.S. this summer since 2005. Tramp who is known as the lead singer for White Lion, a band whose 1987 album Pride stormed the airwaves. “When The Children Cry” and “Wait” helped to propel Pride to double platinum status as the band toured constantly to help promote. It’s follow up Big Game followed suit in 1989 and received gold certification. While the songs were more mature and arrangements a little more complex Big Game did feature successful singles “Little Fighter” and “Radar Love” which were aided by videos that were in heavy rotation on MTV. Another album Mane Attraction followed to even less success which brought about the demise of the band. Tramp then formed Freak Of Nature a new band whose music was darker and more alternative in nature. After recording three albums the band broke up in 1996. Tramp then released several solo albums over the years along with a new White Lion record with all new members entitled Return Of The Pride in 2008. We caught up with Mike at his hotel before his show in Akron, NY in July.
