It seems every time you turn around Buckcherry is always out on the road. Whether they are supporting other bands or headlining, they stop nothing short than giving it their all each time out. Sunday evening the road warriors made a return visit to the area, their first since their big outdoor show in North Tonawanda over the summer. With the bands personnel unchanged since 2005, Josh Todd (vocals), Keith Nelson (guitar), Stevie D. (guitar), Jimmy Ashhurst (bass), Xavier Muriel (drums) have become a solid live unit.
With the temperature dropping outside, Buckcherry took care of heating it up inside as they took the stage with the adrenaline charged “Ridin” from their sophomore release Time Bomb. Todd never one to lack any energy, bounced around on stage as the band then tore into “Rescue Me”.
The band broke out “Gluttony”, a song from their forthcoming release entitled Confessions, due to drop in February. For being a new song it was met with a very positive response. Afterwards Todd addressed the crowd and thanked them for doing their “homework”.
One thing that sets Buckcherry apart from their contemporaries is their ability to pull seldom played tunes out on a whim and stick them in the set. This show being no different as the band treated the crowd to “Imminent Bail Out” and a rousing version of “Carousel”.
Confessions will be the bands sixth album when it is released next month. The band doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon as they will be on the road probably for much of 2013. Anyone who witnessed the near eighty minute performance the band gave Sunday night can corroborate that Buckcherry delivered their usual high energy, rollicking set that seemed all too brief and left everyone craving more.
