Country music was the theme Friday evening in western New York. While a radio station sponsored country event in downtown Buffalo took place, the patrons inside the Seneca Niagara Events Center were getting a taste of country themselves dished out by country megastar Trace Adkins. The show was only the fourth of 2014 for Adkins. The show was a makeup date from an earlier postponement due to Adkins recent stint in rehab to deal with the personal loss and setbacks he experienced recently.

Adkins seemed rejuvenated and refreshed and with the energy of his performance along with his backing band, christened The Sarepta Gentleman’s Club, delivered a blistering ninety minute set. Adkins and Company wasted no time as the songs came one after another with most songs starting immediately after the preceding song had ended.

Adkins delved through some of his classics such as “Chrome”, “Ladies Love Country Boys”, as well a pair of covers in Ace’s “How Long” and Bob Seger’s “Come To Poppa”. However it was his number one smash “You’re Gonna Miss Me” that brought the house down.

Another cool segment of the show was when Adkins played his first ever single “There’s A Girl In Texas”, a song he called his new favorite old song, as well as the first song of his which he felt that was worth a damn. He followed that up by playing his second single “Every Light In The House”.

It was a warm welcome back for Adkins who proclaimed that he was glad to be back out on the road because that is what he does. He said he was glad to be back in Niagara Falls and promptly followed that up with “I’m glad to be anywhere.” Fans of Adkins can attest how glad they are to have their favorite singer back sounding good and still giving everyone a show they will always remember.
