George Thorogood & the Destroyers will rock Artpark on August 1st. If that isn’t enough then how about 38 Special joining them as well? What promises to be a great double bill and an evening of nothing but classic rock at its finest.

George Thorogood needs no introduction. The man has seen plenty and almost done it all. As a matter of fact, he is releasing his first ever solo album on August 4 called Party Of One. The album is a raw and stripped-down affair that features only Thorogood’s vocals and guitar although he also will mix in harmonica, DOBRO and slide.  Jim Gaines returns to produce the new album. Those of you who follow Thorogood will remember Gaines has produced some of the band’s best efforts (Ride Til I Die, The Hard Stuff and The Dirty Dozen).

Expect to see and hear many of your George Thorogood & The Destroyers favorites when they take the stage. It has been six years since the band last played at Artpark so expect them to waste no time in getting the party started.

38 Special are another one of Artpark’s favorites. The band played the venue in 2011 and 2013. While it has been four years, the regular attendees who come week after week were glad to see 38 Special finally back where they belong.

38 Special led by vocalist, guitarist Don Barnes, also features drummer Gary Moffatt, keyboardist Bobby Capps, guitarist Danny Chauncey and bassist Barry Dunaway.

Although the band has not released an album of new material since 2004s Drivetrain, they have maintained an active touring schedule averaging 60+ shows a year mainly during the summer months.

Do not miss this show as this will be a double treat. It will be good to see these two bands hit the Artpark stage once again on August 1.
